Cal Tech have created a chip that emits and receives tetrahertz rays – a T-ray sensor. Much like X-rays these can be used to see through objects – fabric, cardboard, skin. These sensors may soon appear in smartphones and other devices. These new sensors can also be used to better detect gestures making improving human-computer interaction.
